Lee Chamber Seeks Volunteers for Main Street Beautification

LEE, Mass. — The Lee Chamber of Commerce is reaching out to the community for volunteers to participate in a project aimed at enhancing the charm of the town's main street.
 
On Thursday, May 23, the Chamber plans to hang flower baskets sourced from Clark's Nursery on lamp posts along the main thoroughfare.
 
Volunteers who can provide transportation for the flower baskets are requested to meet at Clark's Nursery at 8:30 am. Those who intend to assist solely with hanging the baskets are asked to gather at the park. Participants are advised to bring ladders, gloves, and pliers if available, to facilitate the task.
 
In anticipation of potential adverse weather conditions, a rain date of May 24 has been set for the project.
 
Individuals interested in contributing to this community beautification effort are encouraged to contact the Lee Chamber of Commerce via email at director@leechamber.org for further information or to volunteer.

MassDOT Advisory: South County Construction

LEE, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing crews will be conducting daytime and overnight hour guardrail repair, drainage work, pavement marking, and bridge repair operations at various locations and times on I-90 eastbound and westbound during the week of Monday, June 3.  
 
Lane closures will be in place during the construction operations and traffic will be able to travel through the work zones.  The schedule for the work and lane closures will be as follows:   
 
Otis/Blandford   
  • Guardrail and drainage work will be conducted on I-90 eastbound and westbound between mile marker 21.0 to 26.6 from Monday, June 3, through Thursday, June 6, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the next morning. The work is expected to conclude by 5:30 a.m. on Friday, June 7.  
Blandford 
  • Bridge repair operations will be conducted nightly on I-90 westbound from mile marker 26.0 to 27.0, from Monday, June 3, through Thursday, June 6, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the next morning. The work is expected to conclude by 5:30 a.m. on Friday, June 7.   
Stockbridge/West Stockbridge  
  • Bridge repair work will be conducted nightly on I-90 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 1.0 to 6.0, on Tuesday, June 4, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the following morning.  
Stockbridge  
  • Guardrail repair operations will be conducted nightly on I-90 westbound, from mile marker 3.7 to 6.0, from Monday, June 3, through Thursday, June 6, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the following morning. The work is expected to conclude by 5:30 a.m. on Friday, June 7. 
  • Bridge repair operations will be conducted nightly on I-90 eastbound and westbound at mile marker 7.5, from Monday, June 3, through Thursday, June 6, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the following morning. The work is expected to conclude by 5:30 a.m. on Friday, June 7. 
  • Drainage repair operation will be conducted on I-90 eastbound at mile marker 6.0, on Thursday, June 6, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 
  • West Stockbridge  
  • Bridge repair operations will be conducted nightly on I-90 eastbound and westbound at mile marker 0.6, from Monday, June 3, through Thursday, June 6, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the following morning. The work is expected to conclude by 5:30 a.m. on Friday, June 7. 
  • Bridge repair operations will be conducted nightly on I-90 eastbound from mile marker 2.0 to 3.0, from Monday, June 3, through Thursday, June 6, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the following morning. The work is expected to conclude by 5:30 a.m. on Friday, June 7. 
Lee  
  • Pavement marking operations will be conducted nightly on I-90 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 7.3 to 15.8, on Monday, June 3, through Thursday, June 6, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the next morning. The work is expected to conclude by 5:30 a.m. on Friday, June 7.  
  • Drainage repair operations will be conducted daily on I-90 eastbound at mile marker 13.4, on Monday, June 3, and Tuesday, June 4, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. 
Becket 
  • Drainage repair operations will be conducted on I-90 westbound at mile marker 16.5, on Wednesday, June 5, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
   
Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.   
 
Drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
