HOFFMANN BIRD CLUB FIELD TRIP
Windsor, 7:30 am

Cummington

Come search for American bitterns, Virginia rails, cuckoos and more, in and around the wetlands of Cummington (east of Windsor).  The trip will involve driving to 4-6 birding spots, with easy to moderate walking on grassy paths and along roadsides.  Meet at the Creamery on Route 9 in Cummington.

Description: Spend your morning helping Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary get ready for the busy spring and summer seasons. Work to trim trails, install bog bridges, straighten fences, clean and organize the Nature Play Area, remove invasive plants from around the property, and maintain native wildflower and shrub gardens to provide habitat for birds and insect pollinators.

GOULD FARM 5K WALK-RUN EVENT

Registration / Check-in: 8–9am — Combined Walk-Run Start: 9:30am — Awards: 10:30 am. The Gould Farm 5K walk-run event is back and happening this year on Sunday morning, June 2nd. Funds raised will support adults with mental health and related challenges move toward recovery and independence through our longstanding therapeutic programs in Monterey, MA, and our transitional program outside of Boston. The 5K benefits Gould Farm's Community Fund—our main funding source for program improvements, facilities upgrades, professional development, and an ever-increasing demand for financial assistance.

  Route: The 5K route starts on the lower campus of Gould Farm and makes a loop on local roads - both paved and gravel - and ends in one of our fields. — Parking: On-site, directed field and private road parking for in-person event. Additional Details: Professional timing provided by the Berkshire Running Center. Free t-shirt to all who register by May 12th, or as long as supplies last. Day-of registration t-shirt is $15. WILD THING 5K & 10K TRAIL RACE AND WALK

Mass Audubon's Wild Thing 5K and 10K Trail Race and Walk is a wooded trail run starting and ending at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, 471 West Mountain Road. The race goes through a variety of elevation in both distances. Wild Thing benefits Mass Audubon's conservation and environmental education programming in Berkshire County. More information here.
