LENOX APPLE SQUEEZE
Lenox, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

The Lenox Chamber of Commerce will host the 40th annual Apple Squeeze, a two-day festival for all ages featuring more than 100 vendors, games and shows for children, wagon rides around town, a 5k race, Children’s Olympics, t-shirts sold for tye-dying and much more. Attendees will enjoy live performances for all ages from Terry a La Berry to Rev Tor at two locations on both days. Browse through local handcrafted jewelry, woven baskets, soaps, quilts, photography, paintings, woodworks, and much more. Enjoy everything apple: pies, cakes, sauce, cider, donuts, muffins, and ice cream. There will also be non-apple products served as well such as kettle corn, cake slices over a foot tall, famous corn chowder, food trucks, taco in a bag, and ice cream. The Pittsfield Repair Cafe will be held in the basement of St. Stephen's Church, 67 East St. (entrance on Allen Street). All are welcome to bring one or two household items for free repair. In addition to making repairs, the cafe offers free refreshments, a "free table" of useful items, and live music. Donations to help cover the cost of supplies, refreshments, and other expenses are welcome, but not required.

PORK CHOP DINNER

Cheshire United Methodist Church will be holding a dinner on at the church hall at 197 Church St. The menu for the dinner is breaded pork chops, broccoli, roasted potatoes, applesauce, biscuit, beverage and No Bake Banana Split Cake for dessert. FAIRVIEW HOSPITAL GALA

Comedian and one-liner wonder Demetri Martin will headline the 2019 Fairview Hospital Gala, Fairview’s largest annual benefit, bringing his one-man show "Wandering Mind" to the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center. Dr. George Veinoglou, board-certified in both surgery and wound medicine, is being celebrated as Fairview’s 2019 Gala Honoree. VOICES FOR RECOVERY WALK AND RALLY
North Adams, Noon-4 p.m.

Members of the northern Berkshire community will gather to remember those lost, learn about resources, and celebrate recovery from addiction with hope for the future with the annual Voices for Recovery event, which will be centered at Colegrove Park and will include a recovery walk through downtown North Adams. The event will include resource tables representing local recovery services and providers. Participants will have an opportunity to create remembrance stars for those who lost their lives due to addiction. Members of the community will speak about their personal connection to addiction and recovery. There will be family activities and music, and members of the community will offer words and recollections. A food truck will be on-site with food available for purchase. SANCTUARY ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Lenox, 1-3 p.m.

Berkshire Wildlife Sanctuaries and the Lenox Garden Club will join together to commemorate the founding of the sanctuary 90 years ago. The outdoor event at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary also kicks off the Lenox Garden Club Education Endowment, which will support Mass Audubon’s Berkshire Environmental Literacy Program, a comprehensive science education program for students of preschool age through graduate school designed to educate and inspire the next generation to love and protect nature. The event, called Birds, Blossoms and Brunch, will begin at noon on the lawn with hors d’oeuvres and drinks and an opportunity to meet a few wildlife ambassadors (live animals) from Nature Matters. Then the festivities move into the sanctuary's 18th century barn for a brunch catered by Kate Baldwin. After the brunch, guests may join an Audubon sanctuary educator for bird walks or stroll on beautiful sanctuary trails. Limited tickets are available for Sunday’s event, but donations can still be made to support the endowment. SYMPHONY KICKOFF BRUNCH

Sage City Symphony will host a brunch at a private residence in North Bennington, Vt., to kick off the start of the symphony’s 2019-2020 season. The menu will feature bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon, assorted quiches, fruit salads, breakfast sweets, mimosas, orange juice, coffee, tea, and much more. Tickets for this annual fund-raiser are $25 per person; proceeds will be used to help meet expenses of Sage City Symphony, which is a registered federal nonprofit organization in the State of Vermont that relies entirely on generous donations, gifts in kind, grants, and volunteer services from individuals, local foundations, businesses, and sponsors. CALF CUDDLING

Hancock Shaker Villages introduces a new program, Calf Cuddling, on Sundays. Sixty-minute sessions for up to two people are $100. Registration is required online or by calling 413-443-0188. Learn about the farm at Hancock Shaker Village and the sensitive and intuitive nature of cows while petting, brushing and walking the village’s newest additions. This wellness trend is the village’s most recent addition to animal-centric holistic health programs, such as goat yoga. Sessions are recommended for those ages 5 and older. 'WORKSHOPPING THE ANNUAL APPEAL LETTER'

The Nonprofit Center of the Berkshires presents “Workshopping the Annual Appeal Letter” at Hilton Garden Inn in Pittsfield. The cost is $40 for NPC members and $50 for nonmembers. SAFE AND SUCCESSFUL YOUTH OPEN HOUSE

18 Degrees, formerly Berkshire Children and Families, is launching West Main Connection, an expansion of the 18 Degrees Safe and Successful Youth Initiative (SSYI). Community members are invited to meet the staff and learn more about the program at an open house at the new West Main Connection offices located at 6 West Main St. West Main Connection will provide services that engage young people ages 17-24 years old who are at highest risk of being involved in criminal and/or gang activity. The program employs street outreach, case management, and mental health services (provided in partnership with the Brien Center) to support young people and connect them to community resources. The goal of the program is to promote positive youth development and divert young people from activities that may lead them deeper into the criminal justice system.
