Edward J. Sondrini, 89

ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. Edward J. Sondrini, 89, of Adams died Thursday morning, October 11, 2018, at Springside of Pittsfield.

He was born in Cheshire on March 10, 1929, a son of the late Virgilio and Agata (Nemese) Sondrini, and attended schools in Cheshire and Adams. Ed was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the First Quartermaster Company of the U.S. Army’s First Infantry Division until his Honorable Discharge as a Corporal in 1952.

Ed last worked at the former General Cable Co. in Williamstown for several years until retiring. Earlier, he had worked at the former Adams Super Market for many years, and at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. in Adams. He had also worked part-time for the late Col. Arthur Budd of Windsor, Mass., as a caretaker and chauffeur for several years.

He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, and enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.     

His wife, the former Nancy V. Kogut, whom he married on August 29, 1953, died on February 9, 2006.

He is survived by his sons, Leonard Sondrini and Robert Sondrini, both of West Springfield, Mass.; a brother, Leo Sondrini of Pittsfield; a sister, Anna Delmolino of Berkshire Village; a grandson, Joshua Brandon, and a great-grandson, Giovanni Brandon, both of Georgia; as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Barbara Brandon; and by two sisters, Elsie Graziani and Gena Poulton. 

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at noon in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours will be Thursday morning from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus School, 108 Summer St. Adams, MA 01220.
