Marvin E. Burdick, 77

POWNAL, Vt. — Marvin Elliot Burdick, 77, of Pownal, Vt., died Sunday, November 18, 2018, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, N.Y.

He was born in Florida, Mass., on March 31, 1941, son of M. Lawrence and Alice (Pearson) Burdick. He attended schools in Florida and graduated from Drury High School.

Marvin was employed by Steinerfilm for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Florida Baptist Church. Marvin enjoyed playing horse-shoes, cooking and crossword puzzles. He was an avid Boston Red Sox baseball fan.

Survivors include his longtime significant other, Barbara Dumas; three daughters, Karen Brule of Florida, Mass., Jann McDonough of Hoosick, N.Y., and Tracey Laird of Florida, Mass.; one son, Tyler Burdick of Rutland, Vt.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, including Eleanor Rennell, Eileen Moore and Connie Gray; two brothers, Lawrence Burdick and Daniel Burdick; and nieces and nephews.

His sister, Marilyn Clark, is deceased.

Funeral notice: The funeral for Marvin Burdick will be Friday, November 23, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
