Jacqueline A. Lavariere, 88
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Jacqueline A. (Delisle) Lavariere, 88, of North Adams, Mass., died Tuesday December 4, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center.
She was born in North Adams, Mass., on June 7, 1930, daughter of Lionel and Virginia (Durocher) Delisle. She attended local schools and completed the commercial course at the former Notre Dame Parochial School. Jacqueline worked as a switchboard operator at New England Telephone and North Adams Regional Hospital. She was last employed by Crippen and Coakley Insurance Agency.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Jacqueline enjoyed quilting and knitting.
She was the widow of Wallace A. Lavariere,who died on December 2, 2002. They were married on April 15, 1950.
Survivors include her children, Michael Lavariere and his wife, Maryanne, of Stamford, Vt., Christine Harvey and her husband, James, of Clarksburg, Laurie Gamari and her husband, James, of Adams, and Mark Lavariere of Florida, Mass.; seven grandchildren, including Bryan Gamari, Jessica Gamari, Thomas Gamari, Daniel Gamari, Nicole Vigna and her husband, Matt, Jacob Lavariere and Katie Lavariere; one great-grandchild, Asia; and nieces and nephews.
Her sister, Barbara Hebert, is deceased.
Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Jacqueline Lavariere will be celebrated Friday, December 7, 2018, at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will be in the spring in Clarksburg Cemetery.
A calling hour will be Friday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247. Memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in care of the funeral home.
