David F. Chilson, 57
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — David Frank Chilson, 57, of North Adams, Mass., after battling cancer, died peacefully in his home on Saturday, December 15, 2018.
He was born in North Adams, Mass., on January 10, 1961, son of the late Frank S. and Esther (Putnam) Chilson. He graduated from Drury High School. Dave was last employed by Mountain Home Landscape in Williamstown, Mass.
Dave's outgoing and engaging personality, humor, and smile were ever-present and forever on display. Always willing to drop everything to lend a helping hand to those in need, Dave's true-heart, genuine nature, grit, and determination came through to everyone he met. Dave loved the outdoors and would spend as much of his time as possible hunting, fishing, and camping. Dave’s resourcefulness, strength, and never-say-quit attitude allowed him to tackle the most difficult of challenges, in work and life, to always get the job done.
Dave and Dede were best friends. Always together, their love and devotion guided them through the brightest and most challenging of times. This special bond will survive forever.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. David (Deirdre) Chilson, whom he married on July 25, 2003; two daughters and their families, Jennifer L. Chilson, Jonathan Markarian and Halley and Max of Waltham, Mass., and Krista L. Chilson, Joseph Champney and Landon, Cullen and Aiden of Clarksburg, Mass.; his brothers, Arnold Clough and wife, Julie, of Rutland, Vt., and Richard Clough and wife, Lynn, of Edgewater, Md.; his mother-in-law, Carol A. Shea of North Adams, Mass.; his sisters-in-law, Candida Rufo of Berkshire, Mass., Carolyn Chilson of Buckland, Mass., Deborah Shea and husband, Frank, of North Adams, Mass., and Kathleen Bassett and husband David of Adams, Mass.; brother-in-law, Frederick Shea and Karen Birch of North Adams, Mass.; former wife and mother of his daughters, Julie A. Chilson; and many loved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Frank Stanley Chilson, Edward F. Chilson; Nancy Jane Donnelly and Lawrence E. Chilson; and his father-in-law, Frederick D. Shea.
Funeral notice: The family is carrying out Dave's wish that there be no services.
