He also pitched for Syracuse University and was scouted to be a pitcher in the Philadelphia Phillies farm system. He also loved golfing, gardening, fishing, and hunting and was a devoted member of both the VFW and St. Mary’s Church for many years.

Beyond his many accomplishments, David will be most remembered by his smile, his kindness toward others, and his love for his family.

He was predeceased by his parents, David B. Bowers and Helen Orienti Bowers; his brother, Paul B. Bowers; and his wife of 69 years, Mary Porrini Bowers.

David’s family would like to thank the staff at Lee Healthcare, especially Denise Walker, Sherry Mead and Challis Adams.
