Barbara Wooley, 83

ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Barbara Joan (Tarsa) "Basch" Wooley, 83, of Adams, died on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Williamstown Commons with family by her side.

She was born in Adams on May 7, 1936, a daughter of the late Walter and Blanche (Kuza) Tarsa. She attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School.

She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams.

"Basch" dedicated her life to caring for her family. She raised her two children and then provided daycare for her six grandchildren, who brought her much joy and mischief over many years. In her later years, her great-grandchildren also brought her endless joy.

"Basch" also had a love for all of God’s creatures, especially the many cats that found their way to her. She welcomed them with love over the years.

She is survived by her son, Raymond "Roger" Wooley Jr. and his wife Debra of Adams; her daughter, Dory Trembley and her husband John of Adams; her brother Richard Tarsa and his wife Terrie of Cheshire; six grandchildren, including Tara Carlow and her husband Christopher, Gary Bard and his wife Casey, Nicole Wooley and her significant other Jaymes Jones, Amanda Bard, David Wooley and his wife Elena, and Jessica Martin and her companion Michael Paparella; nine great-grandchildren, Alex, Rosalee, Corbin, Olivia, Elijah, Damien, Elloise, Jasper and Boden; her former husband Raymond Wooley Sr;  and many nieces and nephews.

“Family was her life and she was life to her family.” The family would like to thank the staff at Williamstown Commons for the exceptional care given to Barbara over the years.

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019, at 11:30 A.M. from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours are Monday morning from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society, 214 Barker Rd., Pittsfield, MA 01201 or the Parish of St. John Paul II, P.O. Box 231, Adams, MA 01220.
