Kerry Rae Matte, 45

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Kerry Rae (Waters) Matte, 45, of Buffalo, N.Y., formerly of North Adams, died suddenly from surgery complications at Buffalo General Hospital on July 19, 2019.  

She was born on December 25, 1973, daughter of Ernest and Janet (Snow) Waters. Kerry graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1992 and attended Bryant and Stratton College in Albany, N.Y.

She was employed as a housekeeper and personal care attendant in Western New York and North Adams. She had previously worked as a teacher’s aide at Greylock Elementary School in North Adams.

Kerry enjoyed scrapbooking, shopping, music, and spending time with her family and her best friend, Shelly Armstrong.

Survivors include her parents of North Adams; her maternal grandmother, Barbara Snow ("Nanny"); her daughters, Chelsea Waters of Adams and Logan (Waters) Mitchell of Buffalo; her sons, Tyler Matte of North Adams and Caleb (Waters) Mitchell of Buffalo; three grandchildren, Micheline, Eli and Jaxon; two brothers, Anthony Waters of Stamford and Lucas Waters of Peru; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and her boyfriend, Norman Gill of Buffalo, N.Y.

Funeral notice: A celebration of Kerry’s life will take place at a later date to be published on her family’s Facebook page.
