Carolyn Shaylor, 88

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Carolyn Martha (Billings) Scott Shaylor, 88, of North Adams, Mass., died Saturday May 16, 2020, at North Adams Commons.

She was born in Clarksburg, Mass., on March 18, 1932, a daughter of Bertrand and Clarisa (Blair) Billings. She attended Clarksburg schools and graduated from Drury High School.

Carolyn was last employed by Ashmere Nursing Home. Before that, she worked at Hunter Outdoor Products, Waverly Fabrics and X-Tyal Corp. She had a big family and was well loved by everyone.

Her first husband was David F. Scott, who died on January 18, 1988. They were married in 1948. Her second husband was Charles Edward Shaylor, who died on February 22, 2014 They were married on February 14, 2008.

Survivors include her daughters, Nancy J. Blair of North Adams, with whom she lived, Pamela Maynard of Rome, N.Y., and Susan DeRose of Lawrence, Ga.; her son, Bryan Scott of Adams, Mass.; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Delisle of North Adams; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by four children, including Carol Therrien, David Scott, Robin Huffstater and Cynthia Scott; and three sons-in-law, Lawrence Therrien, Fred Blair and Joseph DeRose.
