Evan McAllister, 16

CLARKSBURG, Mass. —  Evan Anthony McAllister, 16, of Clarksburg died on Sunday, May 17, 2020, in a tragic ATV accident.

He was born in North Adams on January 13, 2004, a son of Stephen and Becky (Sacco) McAllister. Evan began his schooling at Clarksburg Elementary then transferred to Pine Cobble School in Williamstown until eighth grade. Evan was presently a sophomore at McCann Technical School in the Metal Fabrication shop. Evan was on the varsity men’s soccer and lacrosse teams.

Evan leaves his parents, Becky (Sacco) and Stephen McAllister of Clarksburg; his sister, Lauren McAllister, maternal grandparents Anthony (Papa) and Christine (Nina) Sacco of North Adams; paternal grandmother Ellen McAllister of Clarksburg; his aunts and uncles, Brad and Kimberly Sacco, Pamela and John Lizzo and Scott and Susannah McAllister; several great aunts and uncles; and cousins Carli and Bryce Sacco, Matthew Lizzo, Abi and Jake McAllister, and Ryan and Aly Kalisz. He also leaves behind over a dozen pets, including his beloved fat cat Sammy.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Theodore McAllister.

Anyone who knew Evan loved him; he was a special kid who lived life to the fullest. If Evan wasn’t riding his ATV, you would find him in his kayak fishing with his Dad, Uncle Brad or his best friend Carter Foucher. He was a lover of all things reptiles. Evan was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who would cross his path; he was a kid who always had a smile on his face. He loved filling our house with teenaged boys and girls who have all become part of our extended family. We can’t begin to thank Rylie, Mitch and Jake for everything you did to try to help Evan on the day of his accident; you boys are our true heroes.

Funeral notice: Donations can be made to the Angel Scholarship Fund at Pine Cobble School in Evan’s name. Pine Cobble was near and dear to Evan and we would like to continue to honor him for years to come. Checks should be made payable to Pine Cobble School and mailed to Becky and Steve. Due to Covid-19, services will be private; however, we will be having a celebration of Evan’s life at his home. To add to the Book of Memories, please visit www.flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the honor of meeting Evan because he was a great friend to many, including my son Jake. The McAllister home is a second home to Jake. He spent so much time there with Evan and so many others. I helped Evan, Jake and Ethan get a couch downstairs that they had stuck in the stairwell. We had a good laugh about that. I will never understand why it was his time to go but we will keep his memory alive. RIP Evan

I'm so grateful I got to know Evan so well in such a short amount of time. To say that he was a wonderful, personable young man with a great sense of humor is an understatement. Every day I got to see him was a good day, since he always knew how to make everyone laugh and forget about their troubles. I, like everyone else who is lucky enough to know him, will miss him terribly.
