Henry G. Greenleaf, 85
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Henry George Greenleaf, 85, of North Adams, Mass., died Saturday July 18, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Pittsfield, Mass., on July 15, 1935, a son of the late Henry Joseph Greenleaf and Gertrude Esther (Brown) Greenleaf Pangburn. He attended local schools.
Henry was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a self-employed finish carpenter for many years until his retirement.
Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing and crocheting. He was a member of the NRA.
Survivors include one daughter, Kelly M. (Leo) Amaral of Clarksburg, Mass.; one son, Henry W. Greenleaf (Leeann Walker) of North Adams, Mass.; nine grandchildren, including Brittany M. Greenleaf, Hailey N. Greenleaf, Tehya Gazaille, Jonathan Oliver, Thomas Oliver, Gus Ferreira, Brandon DiGennaro, Matthew DiGennaro and Dakota Deschaine; three great-grandchildren, including Colt Ferreira, Arien Oliver and Luna Ferreira; two sisters, Eva Olsen of Arizona and Mary Mailhot of Springfield, Mass.; one brother, William Greenleaf of Virginia; a sister-in-law, Marcia Greenleaf of Pittsfield; his stepsister, Rosemary Lasher of Nassau, N.Y.; and nieces and nephews and cousins. Henry was also a positive role model to many local children, including James Blair, James Kennedy, Joe Williams and Melissa LeSage, who will always hold a special place in his heart.
He was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Greenleaf; a sister, Joan Pfiffer; one niece, Tammy Keyes; his stepfather George Pangburn; stepbrother Edward Pangburn; and his brother William R. Greenleaf, who died as an infant.
Funeral notice: The funeral for Henry Greenleaf will be Monday, July 27, 2020, at 6 p.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, Mass.
