Barbara Fisher, 77

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Barbara Anne Fisher, 77, born in Bennington, Vt., formally from North Adams, Mass., passed away peacefully from natural causes in Huntersville, N.C.

She is survived by her children, Wendy Accetta and her husband Kurt, of Belmont, N.C., Jeffery Lussier and his wife Mary of Hudson, Mass., and Julie Lussier of Huntersville, N.C.; grandchildren Jordon Accetta and his wife Jennings and Stratton Lussier; brother Bruce McConnell and his wife Linda; and cousins, nieces and nephews.

Barbara is predeceased by her husband David J. Fisher, parents George and Elizabeth McConnell.

Born in 1942 in Bennington, Vt.,, she grew up and spent most of her life in North Adams, Mass. After graduating from beauty school in the Boston area, Barbara returned to North Adams, where she married, raised three children and owned and operated Barb’s Beauty Bar.

Barb was a loving mother and doting grandmother. Her legacy is family and the bond to be there for one another that she instilled in all of us. She especially loved the holidays and the opportunity to decorate for the season and gather with family and friends. Barb brought warmth and comfort to many – her bright-eyed smile and genuine nature leave us with abundant memories and joyful hearts.

In retirement years Barb found great joy in nature, particularly the birds that would nest and feed in her yard. They were well-fed and brought much joy. In celebration of Barb’s life and in lieu of flowers the family suggests a memorial donation to Audubon Vermont (act.audubon.org/a/donate-vermont), or a charity of your choice.

Funeral notice: A graveside burial service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Southview Cemetery in North Adams, Mass.

I am so sorry and you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Your mom was the best- I have great memories of times at your house.
from: Jill Morin Pompion: 08-07-2020

So sorry to hear of Barbs passing. Barb was in my thoughts often. She would leave me in her room to play as a youngster as my dad visited with grandma. Then I was in her wedding. Made me feel special. When she met Dave we went out to eat together.
She always did my hair and we had some good chats. Just a few good memories from the past.
You have my deepest sympathy. Love to All
