Alice LaFountain, 70

CHESHIRE, Mass. —  Alice Lorraine (Bennett) LaFountain, 70, of Cheshire, MA died Tuesday February 23, 2021 at Albany Medical Center.

She was born in Bennington, VT on March 10, 1950, a daughter of Lawrence Homer and Alice (Brayman) Bennett. She attended local schools and received her Associates Degree from Berkshire Community College.

Alice was employed as a social worker by the Commonwealth of Mass DMR for 16 years until her retirement.

Survivors include her daughter, Terri LaFountain of Cheshire, MA and six grandchildren- Arthur, Alice, Alicia, Michaela, Seth and Daniel. She also leaves six great grandchildren; three sisters- Helen Johnson ,Rose Bassett and Sharon Windsor; one brother- Paul Bennett of the state of Florida and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son- Arthur Edward LaFountain who died on December 17, 2018. She was also predeceased by her grandson, Michael Lavigne; two brothers- Wayne Bennett and Roy Bennett and four sisters- Priscilla O'Neil, Patricia Brayman, Bertha Brayman and Mary Norman and her longtime companion, Gerald Burke.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Alice LaFountain will be Tuesday March 2, 2021at 7:00 PM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA.
