Lorraine Phyllis LaVigne, 91

ADAMS, Mass. — Lorraine Phyllis (Gibeau) LaVigne of Adams passed on Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, with her daughter's hand in hers, and her son's voice in her ear, at her home in Honeybrook, PA at the age of 91. 

She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Gerald, who passed in 2003.

She was born in North Adams on Feb. 13, 1929, a daughter of Exilda Roy Suprenant and Joseph Gibeau. She attended local schools in North Adams.

Lorraine worked for 35 years at Sprague Electric until her retirement in 1991. She also worked as a telephone operator. She was a communicant of Notre Dame Parish in Adams.

Lorraine enjoyed following her beloved Boston sports teams, especially the Celtics and Patriots. She loved her TV crime shows, shopping, and going out to eat and spending time with her cherished family.

Lorraine moved to Pennsylvania in 2016 to be closer to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love for her family was her main priority in life, she always put the needs of her family before her own, and she will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her daughter Gayle and son in law Dan, her son Mark and daughter in law Laurie, four grandchildren, Gina and husband Joe, David and wife Cora, and Michael and Matthew, along with seven great-grandchildren, Olivia, Cole, Baylee, Gemma, Callia, Haydn and Chase.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 17 at 11 am at Southview Cemetery in North Adams.

Dear Gayle & Mark, very sorry for the loss of your mom. I have many fond memories of the family at holiday's playing pitch and celebrating with everyone. All we have left are our memories and I hope that your's give you solace in the days ahead. My condolences to you and your family. Love, Sherry.
