Skylar R. Cantarella, 16
CHESHIRE, Mass. —
Miss Skylar Renee Cantarella, 16, of Cheshire, died on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield after a brief battle with pneumonia.
She was born in Pittsfield on July 3, 2004, a daughter of Paul and Cheryl (Gancarz) Cantarella. At the time of her death, Skylar was in her Junior year at Pittsfield High School.
Skylar loved dancing and was formerly a member of the Cantarella School of Dance Competition Team and a member of the Junior Company of the Albany Berkshire Ballet. She enjoyed camping with her family, attending motocross and dirt bike races, playing Minecraft, being with her friends, and her puppy Charlie. Skylar worked for Whitney’s Farm Market in Cheshire.
Besides her parents of Cheshire, she is survived by her sister, Ceilia Cantarella; her paternal grandparents, Paul Cantarella and his wife Deborah of Lanesboro; her maternal grandparents, Jean Levesque and her husband Peter of Adams and Gene Gancarz and his fiancé Patricia Wol of North Adams; two aunts, Dina Minerd and her husband Mark and Stacy Rougeau and her husband Dwane; three uncles, Kyle Gancarz, Michael Levesque and his wife Linda and Jon Levesque and his wife Tami and by many cousins and friends and classmates.
She was predeceased by her beloved Nonnie, Linda Cantarella and by her aunt Stefanie Levesque.
Calling hours at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, will be held on Wednesday, June 9th from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday at 2:30 P.M. at Whitney’s Farm, Route 8, Cheshire.
The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests memorial donations to be made to The Skylar Cantarella Memorial Fund (a fund of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation).
