John Thomas Durant, 57

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — John Thomas Durant, 57 of Hyannis, passed away on Oct. 8, 2021.

John was born in North Adams on May 4, 1964, the son of the late Shirley A. and Russell W. Durant, Sr. of North Adams. John was employed as a Property Manager for many years. He was a 1982 graduate of McCann Vocational School.

John is survived by his children, Daniel Joseph of Hyannis and Sarah Marie of East Falmouth. John's wife, and the mother of his children, Kelly (Rota) Durant predeceased him. John is also survived by his sisters, Michaele Durant (Thiers) of Pompano Beach, Fla. and Patricia Clairmont (Lawrence) of Adams and his brother Richard Durant (Mark) of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He was predeceased by his brother, Russell W. Durant, Jr. He has several nieces and nephews and cousins.

A visitation will be held at the Doane, Beal, and Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main St., Hyannis, MA on Sunday, October 31, 2021, from 1-3 pm.

At a later date, John will be interred with his parents at Southview Cemetery in North Adams. The burial will be private.

RIP John, many fun times growing up with you too young to be gone you were a very nice person to everyone you came in contact with, your parents were very proud of you.Russ and Dick you were always there for him trying to lead him on the right path in life.Both of you did a very good job. My condolences go to John's family, I grew up with John on Nelson street and we spent childhood through our High school years as best friends. Unfortunately we lost contact after High School as our lives went in different directions. I was lucky enough to reconnect with him in recent years and my wife and I were able to visit him on the Cape. I have many fond memories of our time together growing up, rest in peace my friend.
