Mary A. Krutiak, 66

CLARKSBURG, Mass. —

is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary A (Cichy) Krutiak, our sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and friend on January 3rd, 2022, at Berkshire Medical Center. Mary entered this world in the early hours of December 2nd, 1955, born to Alice and Francis Cichy in Richland, WA and, as her mother loved to say, Mary was a night owl, and continued to be one for all her life. She attended local Catholic schools graduating from St Joseph’s High School in 1973, and upon graduation began working as an office assistant at Sprague Electric Company and then at the former Krutiak Wood Products. Mary married Ronald R Krutiak on October 8th, 1982, and together they built and made a home in Clarksburg MA, raising two children while also creating a successful business together, Clarksburg Construction Company. Mary lost her beloved husband and partner in August of 2015.

As a true night owl, Mary was decidedly not a morning person, but she was a two-time cancer survivor and a fierce advocate for her autistic son Daniel. Mary’s determination was also evident through her passionate participation in the “Friends of St. Stan’s” vigil successfully fighting to reopen our beloved church. Her outgoing nature, sense of style, and quick smile made people feel at ease. As such, Mary was a party host extraordinaire sharing summer weekends at ‘the land’ on the Deerfield River with her family and many friends, and, of course, with good food and wine, and highly competitive board and card games! Mary also loved building puzzles during snowstorms, baking (especially making cookies at Christmastime), and a good book (in particular, rock-and-roll biographies and Victorian-era novels).

leaves behind so many people who loved her dearly especially her children, daughter Amanda (Krutiak) Rosenburg and her husband Michael, and her son Daniel Krutiak; and her grandchildren Ethan and Maeve Rosenburg. She leaves two sisters and a brother, Cynthia (Cichy) Lanoue and her husband William, and Anne (Cichy) Poirot and her husband Todd; and Francis Cichy and his wife Marie. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Dot Krutiak, and her sister-in-law Kathy Krutiak and her husband Paul Pinsonneault. also leaves many nieces, nephews, and other close relatives and friends who shared in her life, especially her dutiful Godson Rodd Lanoue and his wife Jay, and her ‘second daughter’ Colleen (Cichy) Poirier. Anyone who really knew , knew that she made friends easily and kept them ‘forever’. In particular, she leaves her caring life-long friends Harrington, Sue Beckwith, Sheryl Arico, Jeanne Wilk, and Colleen Zajac.

Funeral services for Mary Krutiak will be held on Monday, January 10th, 2022, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in the spring. Here are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to Animal D.R.E.A.M.S. (ONLINE at berkshireanimaldreams.org or by mail at Animal D.R.E.A.M.S. Inc., 214 Barker Road, Pittsfield, MA 01201). The PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, is in charge of arrangements. To leave a message of condolence, please go online to www.paciorekfuneral.com.
