Catherine S. Moran, 85

ADAMS, Mass. —  Mrs. Catherine S. (Oparowski) Moran, 85, of Adams, died Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Berkshire Medical Center in North Adams. She was born in Adams on March 19, 1936, a daughter of the late John and Gladys (Janik) Oparowski. She attended St. Stanislaus Kostka School and graduated from the former Adams High School with the Class of 1954.

Catherine last worked at the former Brightwater Paper Co. in Adams. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Adams, where she was an active participant during the vigil to keep the church open during its closure. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, and decorating for all of the holidays. She also was an animal lover, especially cats, and will be missed by her feline friend, Toby.

Her husband of 64 ½ years, John V. Moran, whom she married on June 22, 1957, died on January 15th. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Moran (Christopher) of Adams; her son, David Moran (Joan) of Cheshire; her brother, John Oparowski of Adams, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Josephine T. Oparowski, on November 17, 2021.

Funeral services for both Catherine and John will be held on Saturday, Jan. 22nd, at 10:00 AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday morning from 8:30 until 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Wearing of face masks will be required at the funeral home and church. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, 21 Maple St. Adams, MA 01220, or St. Stanislaus School, 108 Summer St. Adams, MA 01220.
