Alice M. Joseph, 96

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Alice M. (Haddad) Joseph, 96 of North Adams died peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in North Adams on August 20, 1926 daughter of the late Harry Miller and Melvina (Joseph) Haddad. She attended schools in North Adams and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School. Alice was first employed by Sprague Electric Company and later worked at the Cafeteria at St. Joseph’s High School, Williams College and MCLA. Alice was a longtime and loyal communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Above all, Alice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Alice was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Louis Joseph whom she married on September 17, 1949. He died on June 15, 1987. Survivors include her son in law, Wayne "Charlie" Wegrzyn of Somers, CT., grandchildren Morgan Killion (Paul) of Mechanicsburg , PA and Brett Wegrzyn (Amy) of San Diego, CA. She also leaves her brother George Haddad (Joanne) of Pittsfield and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Christina Wegrzyn, renowned ICU nurse for over 35 years who died on March 3, 2020.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Alice Joseph will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours are on Wednesday September 21, 2022 from 4-7 PM at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home – CENTRAL CHAPEL 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247.
