John William Simard, 59

CLARKSBURG, Mass. —  John William Simard, 59 of Clarksburg died on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by his family.

John was born in North Adams on September 24, 1962 a son of Richard & Christina (Vackas) Simard. John attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School with the Class of 1980 and was proudly employed by Lenco Armored Vehicles in Pittsfield, MA.
John was a man of boundless character, endless hobbies, and peculiar quirks. Some of his favorites included riding his motorcycles, jet skiing, hunting for the rarest collectables, antiquing, attending concerts of all types, hunting Big Foot (multiple sightings), fishing, working on cars, searching for buried treasure, spotting U.F.O.s, never being on time, hunting (deer, turkey, and bear), surprise visits, and telling the most spectacular stories you'll ever hear. He was not a man easily forgotten, and any one who was lucky enough to cross paths with him will know how truly unique and full of life he was.
John leaves his beloved children, Branden Simard (Lizzy) of Amherst, MA, Hayley Simard of Adams, MA, Sierra Simard of Adams, Ma, and Nathan Simard of Clarksburg, MA. He also leaves his parents, Richard & Christina Simard of Clarksburg, his siblings, Wendy Simard, Michael Simard (Susan), Paula Bopp, Melissa Lash and his grandchild, Braelynn Banister. John was predeceased by his nephew, Brian Simard. He also leaves his dog, Shylee and pet chickens.

Wherever he's moved on to has become a much louder place.
