Richard F. Williams, 71

ADAMS, Mass. —  Richard Franklin Williams, 71 of Adams, MA died on Wednesday November 16, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center.

He was born in North Adams, MA on October 5, 1951, a son of Franklin Arthur and Mary Alice (Gomeau) Williams. He graduated from Adams Memorial High School with the class of 1970 and attended Berkshire Community College.

Richard was employed by General Electric Co in Pittsfield for several years and then was a bartender at several local establishments.

He was an avid sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox baseball team and New York Giants football team. Richard was a "Wizard of Oz" enthusiast and enjoyed golfing at Forest Park Country Club. He also enjoyed playing Keno and crossword puzzles and was well known for his excellent chili.

Survivors include two daughters- Sherri Lynn (Mitchell) Gordon and Lisa Ione Williams (Travis Moran) and four grandchildren- Kayla Elizabeth, Sydney Grace, Ethan Jacob, and Kendall Reese. He also leaves two great grandchildren-Maxson Richard and Maelynn Ione; three sisters- Patricia (Lawrence) Folino, Kathleen (Marshal) Harrington, and Minetta (John) Strauser; his partner, Deborah DeGraeve; two aunts- Joan Gomeau and Yesamine Sarkis; his good friend, Michelle Ostrowski, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and his cat "Lexi". Richard was predeceased by his parents- Franklin A. and Mary G. Williams; his grandson, Ian Richard Lemaire; and his grandparents- Alice M. and William T. Gomeau Sr. and Frank A. and Margaret C. Williams.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Celebration of Life for Richard Williams will be held on Sunday November 27, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Turn Hall, 6 Turners Ave Adams, MA.
