Evelyn Shade Ritcher, 80
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Evelyn Frances Shade Ritcher, 80, of North Adams died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023, at Williamstown Commons.
She was born in North Adams on Feb. 1, 1942, a daughter of Frederick and Ruth May Sweeney King. Evelyn attended schools in North Adams.
She was a devoted and loving mother and loved spending time with her family.
Her first husband, Eugene Amos Shade, and her husband, Calvin Ritcher, both predeceased her.
Survivors include her three daughters, Dawn LaPlante (David) of Dalton, Deborah Dempsey (John) of Pownal, Vt., and Donna Miller (James) of North Adams; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sister, Beverly Cloutier of Williamstown; brothers Joseph King of Williamstown and Ronald King of North Adams, and several nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was predeceased by her daughter Diane Shade; sons Jerome Shade and Eugene Shade; sisters Ruth Adams, and Shirley Gardner, and brothers Fred King and Robert Devio.
The family of Evelyn would like to extend their gratitude to Williamstown Commons and HospiceCare of the Berkshires for all the care and support given to both Evelyn and the family.
