Wayne Goodell, 76

Wayne Thomas Goodell, 76 of North Adams died at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield on Friday, November 15, 2024.Wayne was born in North Adams on December 5, 1947, the son of Gerald Frank and Dolores (Kienzle) Goodell.

He attended schools in Williamstown. He was a decorated veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. He had been employed at General Electric and was last employed as a Supervisor at Steinerfilm.

Wayne married the former Susan Jane Witto in July 1966. She predeceased him on May 3, 2023. Wayne was also predeceased by his only daughter Susan Jane Brooks (Goodell) in June of 2020.

In his younger years, Wayne enjoyed playing softball and riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed playing golf. Wayne especially loved spending time with his grandchildren as well as his great-grandchildren and his dog.

He was survived by his sister Judy Girard of North Adams and his brother Douglas Goodell (Andrea) of North Adams. He also leaves behind his grandchildren; Nicholas, Brittany and Tiffany Winters, all of North Adams and great-grandchildren Emily Winters and Alivia Winters.

Wayne was also predeceased by his brothers Daniel, Stephen and Richard Goodell, along with a sister Kathleen O’Dell.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services for Wayne Thomas Goodell will take place on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel, 605 Main St., Williamstown. Sorry to hear of the loss of Wayne. I worked with Wayne many years ago at Chadbourne. He was decent and standup man and supervisor. Sympathy to Wayne’s family.
