The Drury High School football team goes into Saturday's home game against Smith Vocational with a three-game winning streak and the No. 3 midseason power ranking in Western Massachusetts Division 8 after last Friday's 28-13 win at Pathfinder.
The Blue Devils, who were coming off a pair of wins in North Adams, went on the road and fell into a 13-0 hole late in the first quarter.
"We turned the ball over early, and they were able to capitalize with a fumble return for a touchdown," Drury coach Al Marceau said.
The Drury defense then stiffened and kept Pathfinder out of the end zone -- giving the Blue Devils (3-1) four games this season in which they have held opponents to two scores or fewer.
The Drury offense once again was ablet o run the ball effectively, especially over the last three quarters.
Dante Woodson finished with 144 yards, and Louis Guillotte ran for 70.
But the offense was hampered by six turnovers -- three in the red zone.
"I told the team we can't afford to have turnovers against the teams we will be facing from here on out," Marceau said.  "I thought our line blocked excellently, led by [Alan] Marceau, [Ryan] Goss, and [Tim] Brazeau. They opened up huge holes the whole night, but we need to hang on to the ball."
The defense had several players step up big for Drury. Danny Cartmill had two interceptions, and Alan Marceau and  Goss had some big stops up front for the blue Devils.
"The defense under coach Jutras has been a strength the last three games," Marceau said.
Drury will host Smith Voc on Saturday at 1 p.m. as it closes the season with three of four games at "home," including a Friday night game on Oct. 18 at Mount Greylock, which is co-oping with Drury this fall.
