Koperniak, Coughlan Named County MVPs
Hoosac Valley's Jameson Coughlan and Matt Koperniak have been named Berkshire County's defensive and offensive most valuable players by the league's football coaches.
The coaches have released their all-Berkshire County teams, and, not surprisingly, Hoosac Valley is well represented after going undefeated in the regular season and winning the Western Massachusetts Division 5 title.
Joining Koperniak on the all-county offnese are tight end Javon Reynolds, linemen Jake Swistak and Peter Barrow and running backs Avery Halla and Brenden Ellsworth.
The rest of the offense includes Lee's Cam Abderhalden and Michael Hurley; Taconic's Matt Johnston, Anthony Whiteley and Devon Walker; Mount Greylock's Sean McCormack and Patrick Storie; Pittsfield's Austin Hougtaling; Monuument Mountain's Brandon Perry; and Wahconah's Kyle Noyes.
The defense includes Wahconah's Cole Morrison, Evan Garvey and Dalton Peck; Taconic's Justyn Santiago, Brandon Peaslee, Jake McNeice and Zack Gage; Pittsfield's Sam Sala, Shane Cronin and Kolbe Muzzy; Lee's Randy Pichardo and Nick Castillo; Monument's Zach Tinker and Scott Strinham; and Drury's Alex Griffis.
The all-Berkshire second team unit includes: Taconic's Jake Gallaher, Cedric Rose and David Macintosh; Pittsfield's Edwin Rodriguez, Brian Rodriguez and Sam Fick; Hoosac's Adam Bush, David Crittelli and Austin Mendel; Lee's Tyler Buratto and Matt Heppelston; Drury's Hayden Bird and Cody Crosier; and Greylock's Brodie Altiere and Brandon Condon.
