Wahconah Football Swamps Pittsfield to Stay Perfect

PITTSFIELD, Mass. - Wahconah Park hosted a battle of unbeaten teams Friday as Wahconah Warriors took on Pittsfield.
 
Wahconah (4-0) played inspired football and made a statement to the rest of Western Mass with a 60-6 win over the Generals.
 
Pittsfield did all it could to compete with Wahconah, but ultimately fell 3-1 on the season. 
 
Wahconah’s passing offense started the scoring early, as quarterback Will Genaway threw three touchdown passes. Connor Washburn returned a punt 50 yards, and Tanner Hasting scored a rushing touchdown
 
And that was all in the first quarter.
 
Geneway’s first passing touchdown found Sam Henderson from 5 yards out of the end zone, his second touchdown pass was 24 yards to Washburn, and then Andrew Carlson caught a screen pass from Geneway and scored a 36-yard touchdown. Hastings also scored a 10-yard rush at the end of first quarter. 
 
The Generals were able to get on the scoreboard early in the second quarter as Edwin Rodriguez plunged into the end zone from 2 yards out. After the Pittsfield score Geneway threw a 50-yard touchdown to Washburn, and Hasting rushed for another touchdown as the first half came to an end with Wahconah up, 40-6.
 
In the third quarter, Andrew Carlson scored another touchdown on a 40-yard rush and Nate Zink scored twice in the fourth quarter for Wahconah. Zink’s first rushing touchdown was a 5-yard plunge, and his second was a 43 yard rush.
 
Wahconah will play South Hadley on Friday.
 
Pittsfield travels to Chicopee.
