Crusaders Cruise Past Drury

NORTH ADAMS, Mass — St. Joe's looked strong as they used 379 yards of total offense to beat host Drury, 28-6, on Saturday. Senior running backs Lavante Wiggins and Tank Roberson punished the Blue Devils (1-2 Berkshire County, 1-3 overall) for a combined 250 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns.  Wiggins toted the rock 24 times for 170 yards and  two scores while Roberson carried it 10 times for 80 yards including a 25-yard touchdown scamper.  The two ball-carriers averaged 7 and 8 yards per carry, respectively.

Crusader quarterback Jon Bianchi racked up 104 passing yards on four completions.  He connected with senior Zack Neary for an eight-yard touchdown in the first quarter.

Drury hurt themselves with turnovers as they fumbled twice and were intercepted by Bianchi twice.

St. Joe's (2-1, 3-1) will face city rival Taconic (2-2, 2-2) on Friday night at 7 p.m. at Waconah Park.  Drury travels to Wahconah Park to take on Pittsfield (1-3, 1-3) on Saturday night, same time.
