NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Break up the Blue Devils.

After matching its win total from last year with a victory over St. Joe's on Friday, the Drury boys' soccer team quickly doubled that total by earning a 3-0 win over Lee on Saturday. Greg Caproni's team only won one contest in the 2010 season but so far has fared well in 2011, winning two out of its first three games.

The Blue Devils (2-1) took control of Saturday's contest by scoring 63 seconds into the game. Senior Tyler Landry scored on a back-post run to give Drury the lead, and the hosts took that same edge into halftime despite being outshot 7-5 in the first frame. The Devils struck again less than two minutes into the second half when junior Jacob Groves found Jake Tietgens with a slotted pass up the middle. Tietgens finished the pass off for a goal and later put the Wildcats (2-1) away by scoring on a breakaway 15 minutes later.

"This is a big win for us this year," Caproni said. "In the past two days, we have faced two Southern Division teams and have been victorious in both. Our team is playing better and better every time we step on the pitch. With this momentum, it will be exciting to see what we do going into this upcoming week facing two Northern Division teams."

Drury held a slight 9-8 advantage in shots on goal and had a 4-2 edge in corner kicks in the game. Junior Ryan Ouimet helped lead a defensive effort that gave sophomore goalkeeper Joseph Liporace his first shutout of his career. Liporace finished with nine saves in the game, while Heamon Williams stopped four shots for Lee.

The Blue Devils next play at Lenox at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
