HOLYOKE, Mass. -- The Drury and Lenox boys soccer teams Wednesday earned berths in the Western Massachusetts Division 4 championship game in exciting fashion.

In the first of two games at Holyoke High School, the fourth-seeded Blue Devils (13-7) came from behind to knock off No. 1 Hopkins Academy, 2-1.

In the nightcap, second-seeded Lenox (12-5-3) went to overtime to beat No. 6 Pioneer Valley Regional Tech, 1-0.

In the opener, Hopkins took a 1-0 lead into half-time, but Mitchell Anderson tied it for Drury to open the second half.

Reece Racette got the game-winner with his team-leading 15th goal of the season.

The game ended in a scuffle between the teams that resulted in red cards being issued by the referee. According to the Springfield Republican, Drury's J.J. Middleton picked up a red card.

Lenox and Pioneer Valley settled nothing through 80 minutes of regulation, but sophomore Zach Suffish scored the game-winner to set up a rematch against the Blue Devils, who Lenox handed a 7-1 defeat in their only meeting this season.

The date and time of the all-Berkshire County sectional final have yet to be posted on the MIAA website.
