NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Pedro Rodrigo scored off a corner kick in the 27th minute Friday to give the Mount Everett boys soccer team a 1-1 tie at Drury.

The Blue Devils had taken the lead on a corner kick of their own in the 13th minute.

Jack Demayo’s corner resulted in Hunter Sarkis winning a head ball inside the 18. He headed it toward the near post, where Caleb Besaw put home the loose ball to make it 1-0.

“It was a good competitive high school soccer game, and both teams have reasons to be happy with the tie and reasons to be disappointed with the tie but it is what it is,” Drury coach John Jacobbe said.

Drury keeper Kevin Chen had five saves.

Ivan Rodriguez had six stops for the Eagles (2-1-1), who host Taconic on Tuesday.

Drury (0-1-3) hosts Hoosac Valley on Tuesday.
