NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Travis Hoose scored a pair of goals, and the Taconic boys soccer team took a three-goal lead in the first half en route to a 3-1 win at McCann Tech on Saturday.

Makai Shepardson scored with an assist from Eric Quaidoo midway through the half to give the visitors a commanding advantage.

Ivan Liang finally found the net for the Hornets in the 39th minute. McCann Tech rallied but could not generate any offense after the break, according to coach Stephen McAllister.

“We as a team we’re getting beaten to the ball, and Taconic was taking advantage of that,” he said. “Mccann boys really didn’t come alive until the second half but it was too late. Taconic played a tough defense.”

McCann Tech (3-1-3) hosts Putnam on Monday.

Taconic (4-3-1) goes to Gateway on Monday.
