WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Brendan Dempsey’s hat trick Thursday led the Mount Everett boys soccer team to a 6-1 win over Westfield.

David Bautista-Cruz scored twice, and Anthony Lupiani set up three goals for the Eagles, who got two saves from Patrick Silk in winning their second game to start the season.

“St. Mary's played tough,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “They only had 11 players and they competed. We played well enough to win, but need to keep making improvements in order to be successful down the road.”

Mount Everett (2-0) plays Taconic at Berkshire Community College next Wednesday.
