Candelari Scores Pair as Mount Everett Boys Advance

SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Tyler Candelari scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, to lead the Mount Everett boys soccer team to a 3-2 win over Smith Vocational in the play-in round of the Division 5 State Tournament on Thursday.
 
Smith Voc scored first in the ninth minute, but Candelari answered for the Eagles midway through the first half, and Nathaniel VonRuden scored with two minutes left in the half to give Mount Everett at 2-1 lead.
 
The visitors scored again early in the second, but Candelari scored midway through the second half to put the Eagles on top for good.
 
Mount Everett moves on to the round of 32, where it will visit Mount Greylock on Saturday.
