SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Ryan Abel set up Luis Rodriguez in the 45th minute for the lone goal in a 1-0 Taconic win over Mount Everett in boys soccer action on Thursday afternoon.

Cody Latimer made 12 saves to get the shutout and help Taconic snap a two-game losing streak and improve to 4-4-1 this fall.

"Taconic came to play today," Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. "Coach [Mark] Wasnewsky had his guys motivated to play and had a much better up tempo than us today.

"Kudos to them for playing well. We have to get back to basics tomorrow at practice and refocus for next week."

Ryan Meyer made three saves for the Eagles (7-1-1), who visit Berkshire Country Day on Monday.

Taconic hosts Pittsfield on Friday at Berkshire Community College.
