Holmes, Rich Lead Pittsfield Boys Past Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Mike Holmes and Jackson Rich each scored one goal and assisted on another to lead the Pittsfield boys soccer team to a 4-0 win over Taconic on Saturday at Kirvin Park.
 
Sean Baruch provided all the offense Pittsfield (11-3-4) needed when he drilled a shot from 25 yards out in the fifth minute.
 
Ten minutes later, Holmes set up Rich with a cross frmo the left-wing corner. Rich finished with a header to make it 2-0.
 
Rich then assisted on a goal by Vincenzo Coppola before Holmes capped the scoring with an unasssted goal before half-time.
 
Jon Matthew Bile made two saves to earn the shutout win for Pittsfield, which will learn Monday who it opens the MIAA Western Mass tournament against.
 
Cody Latimer stopped 12 shots for Taconic (6-9-3).
