PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Hedi Abderrahim scored the game’s first two goals and sent the Pittsfield boys soccer team on to a 7-0 win over Taconic at Kirvin Park.

Abderrahim scored an unassisted goal in the 22nd minute to break a scoreless tie. He added a second goal nine minutes later with help from Carter Matthews, who scored his own goal with one minute left until half-time.

“It took a little while to find our legs after last night's game, and Taconic pressed us hard right of the bat putting in a tough effort,” Pittsfield coach Andrew Antil said. “After our first goal, though, we settled down, and started creating higher percentage opportunities that we could capitalize on.”

Sam Higuera, Joel Robalino, Ronny Brizan and Dylan Thompson each scored a second half goal. Matthews finished with a goal and three assists.

Avi Snowise made one save to earn the shutout in goal.

Jaden Cross made 13 saves for Taconic (0-11), which goes to Hoosac Valley on Monday.

Pittsfield (10-1-2) hosts Ludlow on Monday.
