PITTSFIELD, Mass. — You knew when Taconic and Lee got together it would be a hard physical game. Well, they didn't disappoint anyone Saturday afternoon as the Braves and Wildcats played to a 5-5 tie.

Taconic (1-2-1) came out quick as sophomore goal keeper Basile Addy sent a goal kick punt down the field in the 4th minute that Dominic Nda chased down and put past Lee's goaltender to make it 1-0. Lee (2-2-1)  responded in the 10th minute when John Graziano took a pass from Luke Murphy and put it in the net to tie the game at two. Patrick Boua put Taconic ahead just before half with an unassisted goal to make it 2-1.

Taconic got a spark when Sean Conners, just moved up from the JV squad, scored his first varsity goal assisted from Tim Schmidt. Nda scored his second goal of the game in the 55th minute assisted from Boua. Taconic had a commanding 4-1 lead until Gabriel Nogueira got one back for Lee unassisted.

Two Taconic players were then red carded and the Braves played 2 men short. Lee capitalized on this and scored the next three goals to take a 5-4 lead. The first goal was a Taconic own goal, and then two more within 2 minutes of each other, one by Jake Leprovist assisted by Ryan Kohlenberger and the second by Luke Murphy unassisted.

Nda secured his hat trick in the 80th minute to salvage a tie for Taconic.

Taconic plays at Pittsfield on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 4 p.m. while Lee plays host to St Joe on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 4 p.m.
