A couple of top performers on a couple of unbeaten teams are this week's iBerkshires.com/Adams Community Bank Athletes of the Week.

No one has been able to catch Pittsfield High sophomore Emmanuel Nda or his Generals teammates this spring.

The county's top sprinter started the season strong with a time of 11.16 seconds to place third in the 100 meters at the Niskayuna (N.Y.) Warrior Classic.

That shaved .05 off the time he ran in the 100 final at last year's Central/Western Massachusetts Division 1 sectional, where Nda was sixth overall -- and second among Western Mass schools -- as a freshman.

He followed that up with a win in the 100 at the Berkshire Invitational, where he also ran leadoff in a dominating Pittsfield 4-by-100 relay win.

In dual meets, he has three wins in the 100 and three in the 200 and helped Pittsfield go 3-0 in the 400 relay while going 5-0 in team dual competition.

Nda and the PHS boys will put their perfect dual meet record on the line on Wednesday at Wahconah High in their final dual meet competition of the spring, taking on Monument Mountain and Mount Greylock.

The Hoosac Valley girls lacrosse team has been a perfect 10, as in 10-0 after winning Wednesday's rematch at Wahconah.

Hurricanes senior Claudia Bresett is second on her team in goals with 38 and third in assists with 11.

In the Wahconah win -- Hoosac's third in three days -- Bresett was part of a key strategy change that helped the Hurricanes dominate draw controls in their second-half comeback.

“Credit to Maria Bartini, who is one of the assistant coaches, who switched Claudia [Bresett] in there, and then we put an extra defender down to help with the transition,” Hoosac Valley coach Molly Meczywor said. “And I think Claudia did a really good job of maintaining and controlling the draw."

Bresett also had a hat trick in that win and 11 goals and three assists on the week.

Hoosac has another three-games-in-three-days stretch coming up this week against Pittsfield, Granby and Lee as it looks to improve on its seeding for the Central/Western Mass tournament.
