Holmes Scores Twice, Generals Top Wahconah

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Mike Holmes scored twice on Thursday night to lead the Pittsfield boys soccer team to a 4-1 win over Wahconah at Berkshire Community College.
 
Quinn Matthews got the scoring started in the fifth minute when he converted a Sean Baruch assist on a play that started with Louis Higher's throw.
 
Wahconah's Sean Harvey tied the game two minutes later with an unassisted goal.
 
Holmes scored on a free kick from outside the box midway through the half to give Pittsfield the lead for good. Four minutes later, Jamie Rosiello added to the lead when he dribbled down the middle of the field through several defenders and finished to make it 2-1.
 
Holmes finished the scoring on a penalty kick in the 63rd minute.
 
Jon Bile made three saves to earn the win for PHs (10-2-2), which hosts East Longmeadow on Saturday.
 
Brayden Chevillet and Anthony Dondiego combined for 12 saves for Wahconah (3-9-1), which hosts Drury on Monday.
