PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Eric Hirsch scored twice and set up two goals to lead the Mount Greylock boys soccer team to an 8-0 win non-league over Taconic on Monday afternoon.

"We were able to work on possessing the ball for long stretches today to set up the open shot," Mount Greylock coach Blair Dils said. "Our scoring percentage on shots on goal was extremely high today, which meant we were finding the open man in front of the night.

"Taconic is a young team but they worked hard throughout the match. They will only get better as the season goes on."

Felix Kershaw scored twice, and the Mounties got a goal apiece from Dan Flynn, Zach Condon and Immanuel "Crow" Brennan. One goal was credited as an own goal.

Max Joy and Cal Filson split time in the Mount Greylock goal.

The Mounties (4-0) are back on the road Thursday at Lenox.

"We're excited about playing Lenox (3-1-1) Thursday night," Dils said. "They're off to a hot start, and it should be a great, high-energy matchup that night."
