PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Mount Greylock and Pittsfield traded second half goals in a 1-1 tie on Tuesday afternoon.

The Mounties (5-0-1) broke a scoreless tie two minutes after half-time when they caught Pittsfield keeper Harrison Rapant off his line. Felix Kershaw stole the ball and got it to Eric Hirsch on the right side of the box. Hirsch fed a streaking Dan Flynn, who knocked in his sixth goal of the season.

Later in the half, the Generals (2-1-2) responded.

Jackson Rich curled a direct kick from the right-wing corner into the box for Shane Tierney. Tierney headed the ball past defender David Majetich and keeper Cal Filson (five saves).

"We feel a little frustrated today to only get the one goal," Mount Greylock coach Blair Dils said. "Pittsfield was organized on defense. We weren't as sharp in the final third as we needed to be. The goal was very nice, but we definitely feel we left some goals out there today.

"Harry Rapant was very good for Pittsfield. He made a couple of key diving stops late in the game to preserve the tie for them."

Mount Greylock hosts Hampshire Regional on Friday afternoon. Pittsfield plays Taconic Friday in a boys-girls double-header at Berkshire Community College.
