Potoski Scores Pair as Spartans Roll into Semis

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Jackson Potoski scored twice to lead a balanced attack for the Monument Mountain boys soccer team in Monday’s 9-0 win over St. Mary’s in the quarter-finals of the Class B Western Massachusetts tournament.
 
Eight different Spartans found the back of the net as Monument Mountain advanced to Wednesday’s regional semi-final. The Spartans will face second-seeded Hampshire, a 5-0 winner over Wahconah on Tuesday.
 
Eddie Boyko, Will Curtiss and Tyler Sprague each had a goal and an assist on Monday night.
 
Erving Henderson, Dennis Penny, Gavin Santos and Christian Blanchard each scored. Sam Higa assisted on a pair of goals.
 
Luke Arienti made one save to earn the shutout win in goal.
