WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- West Springfield's Nate Salamon converted a penalty kick in the waning seconds of the match to give the Terriers a 1-1 tie against Pittsfield on Saturday.

"Though way to end a game, but we will take the point," said Pittsfield coach Andrew Antil, who said it was an even game with few chances for either said.

"Most of the game was played in the middle of the park," Antil said. "Each team had a few opportunities here and there. We got our late break with a beautiful cross from Matt [Miller] into the box and Cole [Masiero] was in front to put the head ball in."

Avi Snowise made five saves in the Pittsfield goal.

The Generals (3-4-2) go to Mount Greylock on Friday.
