We did our job. We needed to win today to stay alive in the South. I am very proud of my boys and how they played. We had a rough game against Pittsfield and I was wondering how we would bounce back with such an important game today. This was some of the best soccer I have seen us play this year. We moved the ball very well and had a very clean first touch. I was pleased to see Sully find the back of the net as much as he did today. I have been bouncing him back and forth from the back line to striker. He is such a solid player I am able to put him in any position and he will be successful. As a team we were striking to ball very well today, at the 37th minute mark we had a direct kick from about 35 yards out and Stephin made sure it was a direct kick and he made the decision to place a shot on net. It was just out of reach of the GK. In the second half I started pulling my starters and giving some of my younger players some Varsity time. As a result the flow of the game started pushing to our defensive end. We gave up a couple late game goals but the kids never stopped pushing. Late in the game we were able to keep the ball in the attacking third and 8th grader Mitchell Anderson scored his first Varsity game. I am so pleased with my teams effort and output today. I am looking forward to facing Hoosac later this week, we still have a chance to tie for the South with a win.
