Some ties feel like losses. Others feel like wins. This one goes in the win category as we were able to score twice in the final 7 minutes to tie Ludlow.
"We did a nice job of controlling the center of the midfield win the first half with the play of Benni McComish, Sam Dils, and Grant Raphael. We didn't allow Ludlow too much room to develop their attack. In the second half Ludlow opened things up and we saw firsthand why Mike Goncalves is considered one of the region's best players."
"It seemed improbable [that we would score two goals in the final 7 minutes] but we were getting quality chances all night and we were just off by a few feet on a lot of them. Moving David into the midfield [he's normally the center back] for the final 12 minutes of the game really paid dividends when he got the final goal.
Ludlow got their first goal on a nice one time finish from the 12 spot (Gomes). Their second goal was earned on a PK when David Majetich took a player down at the top of the box.
Our goal came on a quick counter and a great through-ball by Grant Raphael. Our final goal was very similar except with David making a bold run forward and getting on the end of Eric's shot across the goal mouth.
"Tying Ludlow certainly doesn't hurt our chances to grab a high seed in the division 3 tournament."
