PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Despite what appeared to be a lopsided final score, Drury boys' soccer coach Greg Caproni was suprisingly upbeat after his Blue Devils lost 4-0 to Pittsfield on Tuesday.

The Generals (5-3-2) took advantage of a 10-0 advantage in shots in the first half and got goals off of headers from Harry Rich and Anthony Traversa to take a 2-0 lead into the half. Drury (2-5-1) evened up play in the second half, but the hosts sealed up the win when Chris McGovern and Darian Chambers each scored off of rebounds within the final 15 minutes of play.

"Pittsfield is a large, tough, Division 1 team," Caproni said. "They worked the ball well and had us on our heals early in the game. We adjusted in the second half and controlled the ball more, but Pittsfield was too much for us. Even though the score doesn't show it, our team made some great improvements in this game. This stretch of North Division games is preparing us for our South Division matches coming up in the second half of the season."

Goalies Keiland Cross and Bahati Mweze each had two saves to earn the shutout for the Generals. Sophomore Joseph Liporace and freshman Cameron Lesure each allowed two goals and combined to make nine saves in net for the Devils, who continue their tough North Division slate with a road game at Mount Greylock at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
