PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- You never get a second chance to make a first impression. So when eighth grader Logan Rumbolt got his opportunity to play with the Drury boys' soccer team, the young forward made sure his first game on the varsity squad was one to remember.

Rumbolt scored the game-tying goal midway through the second half in a game against Saint Joseph's on Thursday. Senior forward Jake Tietgens then did the rest, slamming home a penalty kick with four minutes remaining to clinch Drury's come-from-behind 3-2 win over the Crusaders.

After enduring a four-game losing streak, the Blue Devils (4-6-1) won their second straight South Division game in a row and their first road victory of the season on Thursday night.

"My boys are doing what needs to be done, which is winning South Division games" Drury head coach Greg Caproni said. "We had to work at this one, seeing that St. Joe's scored early in both halves. But my kids kept at it and worked their way back in it. It was exciting to see Logan come up for the game and score the game-tying goal."

The Crusaders (3-9-1) took a 2-1 lead four minutes into the second half on a goal by Jongmun Hun. Rumbolt then came through in the 61st minute, however, finishing off a feed from junior Jacob Groves, who used a triangle pass with Tietgens to move the ball up the field. Devils striker Rik Brown was then taken down in the box with late in the match, setting up Tietgens to score the game winner off of a penalty kick.

Drury went down quickly in the first half, as Matt Begrowicz scored off of a breakaway just 2:28 into the game. Groves came back to tie the game in the 17th minute, however, when he scored off of a deflected shot off the goalpost. Caproni's squad outshot St. Joe's 15-10 for the game and earned an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Freshman Cameron Lesure made six saves to earn the win in net for the Blue Devils, while Mike Carpenter stopped five shots in goal for the Crusaders.

Drury will try to win its third straight game on Saturday, when it plays rival Hoosac Valley at 12 p.m. in a match held at Renfrew Field.
