NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Jorge Bond scored a pair of goals Monday as the Drury boys soccer team earned a 2-2 tie against Ware.
The Blue Devils struck first in the eighth minute of the game when Ben Harrington set up Bond.
Ware got the tying goal late in the first half to send the teams into the break stalemated.
Midway through the second half, Rommel Alvarez set up Bond for his second goal of the day. But the visitors answered six minutes later.
“Hard fought high school soccer game,” Drury coach John Jacobbe said. “Both teams had chances to win the game and both teams are probably disappointed with the tie and not getting the win. We have to learn to turn these close hard fought games in our favor the second half of the year.”
Colin Daly made eight saves in the Blue Devils’ goal.
“Colin Daly made his biggest save of the day on a point blank shot with less than 10 minutes left, and the Ware keeper secured the tie for his team by winning a ball in the box off a late corner kick,” Jacobbe said.
Drury (2-4-1) hosts Westfield Tech on Tuesday.
